INK Focus - Colormania: Color and Fashion

With a foreword by Edward Enninful, COLORMANIA is a vibrant and exuberant celebration of fashion, colour, dynamic motion and exquisite beauty.

The project is the result of a four year collaboration between Elizaveta Porodina and Wes Gordon. “Elizaveta photographs in a very distinct painterly style, whereby she swaths color like a painter brushes color on a canvas. Her style resonated with me from the first time I saw her work,” says Wes.

Inspired by dance and the work of fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez, the book is flooded with photography of models and dancers in motion to reflect the vibrant energy and optimism of the collections.

With her evocative and masterful use of colour Elizaveta takes viewers on a mesmerizing journey through a kaleidoscope of hues. COLORMANIA is a testament to Elizaveta’s artistic vision and her ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. It is a celebration of the rich and diverse palette that surrounds us, inviting us to revel in the beauty and complexity of the world as seen through the eyes of one of the most innovative photographers of our time.

Fortunate enough to be able to call Elizaveta a longstanding client, INK’s contribution to the project spanned several years, encompassing cosmetic retouching on numerous images from Carolina Herrera campaigns, along with a wide array of additional pictures meticulously chosen for the project. Our work extended beyond solely retouching, we were also involved with the pre-press for the final publication, colour proofing and checks, QC’ing as well as assisting with cropping for layouts.
