INK Focus - Palm* Prize
Palm* Photo Prize is an annual submission-based exhibition for a new generation of photographers. Founded in 2018 by Lola Paprocka, its aim is to support, elevate and showcase the best of the new wave of image-makers. The prize features the work of emerging and established photographers and encourages conversations on human engagement, artistic development, community and representation through the printed image.
Each year a shortlist of 100 artists are showcased in an exhibition in London, presented during Photo London, London’s largest photography fair.
This year, the judges were made up of industry experts: photographer Prarthna Singh; writer, creative and visual cultures expert Gem Fletcher; Editor in chief of i-D Magazine Alastair McKimm; multidisciplinary artist Mo Mfinanga; senior photography agent Jono Tusder and photographer and Palm Studios founder, Lola Paprocka.
The panel awarded first and second Judges’ prizes, while the public voted for the winner of the People’s Choice award and the People’s Choice Instagram award. INK are proud supporters of this year’s prize and offered the overall winner, Kennedi Carter, access to the expertise of the stills retouching team on a project of her choice as well as providing a cash prize.
